This project is to Reverse Engineer a little kids toy. Reverse Engineering is taking apart another product to see how it works. Companies will use reverse engineering to find out how rival companies build products like what Samsung did to Apple so they can get ahead of their competition. They take apart mechanical parts to find out its workings and what the inputs and outputs of the product are to find its function.

Visual Analysis
Name- Little Hopping Bunny
Distributor- Oriental Trading Company
Target Consumer- kids aged 3 and up
Visual Design Elements and principles-
The color of the eyes show contrast as they are black and white. The shape of the bunny shows formal Balance as it is symmetrical. The head is in proportion to the body while matching arms, ears, feet, and eyes show unity through the toy. The white twister on the side shows emphasis as there is only a bit of white on the whole toy. The shape is also economy as the design is simple.

Functional Analysis
Purpose- to keep little kids occupied.
Function- you twist the white lever which spins gears inside the bunnies gear box which makes the feet go in a circular motion propelling the feet forward.
Inputs Product Function Outputs
Force heat
Twisting sound
gears turn
feet move

Structural Analysis
What simple machines were used?
Simple machines used were a wheel and axle and screws.
How did it work?
It worked by when you twisted the handle/twister, gears inside the gearbox would spin and a little wire would tighten. Once you put the bunny down the gears would put the feet in a forward moving motion.
What parts interacted?
Parts that interacted were The twister with the gears then the gears with the wire and then the wire and gears with the feet.

Specific Improvements
1. One improvement I would make would be an increased lifespan. The gears stop working pretty quickly and the bunny doesn't hop.
2. Another improvement would be a more stable base. The bunny falls over quickly.
3. A third improvement would be the bunny jumping higher. The bunnies hops are very tiny, it would be cool to see more power.
4. A final improvement would be the bunny going longer. Once you spin the twister the bunny slowly dies out pretty quickly. It would be nice to see it go longer and farther.
